Lambert Wedding // Gina + Rusty // St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church // Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church // Birmingham, AL

Most of our brides know that one of our favorite parts of the wedding day is the getting ready process. We love that time with our bride and her maids. We do a lot of observing during that part of the morning, just watching you interact with your girls. Every bride is different. Some girls are giggly the entire getting ready time, and some are more reflective and still. Gina was one that kept to herself a little bit. You could tell there was a lot going on in her head, but she'd always make sure to flash us a quick smile. Right before it was time to put on her dress though, you could tell she was excited and all smiles!

Because the getting ready process is our favorite, we always encourage our brides to choose a location that is meaningful to them, which is why we LOVED that Gina chose to get ready at her grandfather's house. The entire home was filled to the brim with family photos and memorable keepsakes. Gina even got ready in the room that she claimed as hers as a child (you know you had one too at your grandparents' house!) In that room was actually her grandparents' very first set of bedroom furniture from when they were first married! (No wonder Gina thought she was a princess when she stayed with them. It was so perfect! The room even had a balcony.) We also loved that Gina did a first look with her dad and her grandfather separately in her grandmother's favorite sitting room. Everything had meaning. In between moments, we loved just going from room to room looking at the amazing generations after generations of family photos.

Gina and Rusty chose not to see each other before the ceremony. If Rusty was nervous, you could not tell it one bit... Another one of our favorites things about wedding days is when the groom is just ear-to-ear with huge smiles. And that was Rusty! It was the happiest we'd ever seen him! The ceremony was just over an hour long, so we were losing sunlight pretty fast when they walked back down the aisle together as a new husband and wife! As soon as we walked through the doors to an outside courtyard, we didn't even have to give them any direction. They immediately were in each other's arms and were the cutest and sweetest we'd seen them all day. Gina and Rusty, we are so happy for you two! Congratulations on a beautiful wedding day and lifetime together! :)
