Sometimes you just need to find a hot pink dress, get your man all cleaned up in a nice suit, and drive to a beautiful place. We seriously believe in celebration around here at Sweet Julep. (And we also seriously believe in champagne - as most of our brides know!!) You may have seen us share, oh you know... maybe a hundred or so photos from Laura and Cody's wedding last June at Bridgestreet Gallery and Loft. So when she said she wanted to do an anniversary session with us, we were like, "DUH!" We jump at any chance to photograph these two remarkably beautiful people. 

So off we went to Mobile, AL! We threw around a few ideas and Mobile ended up as the winner! Neither of us had any experience shooting in the city. We'd both visited several times, but never had an opportunity to take photos there. Laura booked the most adorable little hotel in a historic district. We didn't even have to venture far from their hotel room to find amazing locations. We loved spending time with these friends, and we love Laura even more for trusting us so much. Laura is a fellow film lover and allowed us to shoot her entire session on film. (Yes, we were literally dying of excitement.) So behold, our first ever 100% film-shot session. We've slowly been incorporating more and more film into our work in a plan to become mostly film shooters. Nearly all of our 2016 weddings have been shot with both digital and film. And based on this day and the year so far...we are REALLY excited about this transition!  

Laura and Cody, we are so happy to have known you for the past few years now! We are even more thankful that you've allowed us to photograph the different seasons of your life. We can't wait to see what year two has in store for you! <3
