Thigpen Wedding // First United Methodist Church // Decatur, Al
When we think of a Southern darling couple, the first one to come to mind would be Lindsey and Samuel for us... With Lindsey being from Decatur and Samuel hailing from Red Bay, these two just have the perfect Southern charm. The bride and groom met while attending The Univ of North Alabama. Lindsey admitted during our consultation that she had a crush on Samuel for a while actually. So in an attempt to possibly steal his heart, she asked him to one of her last sorority formals. Well, it obviously worked because he proposed in Dec 2013 after they had both graduated and moved to Birmingham! Samuel was super sneaky and planned to distract Lindsey with some Christmas shopping… They went to the UNA campus bookstore (but it was closed) and then walked around the campus… At the fountain, Samuel pulled out his “Christmas List” which was really a list of all the times they had hung out together. If that didn’t get Lindsey thinking, then Samuel on one knee telling her he loved her (FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!) certainly did!! They dated for one year and seven months without ever saying the L word! Don’t mind us… We’re just ugly crying in the corner over here. So much sweetness…
So in June 2014, Lindsey and Samuel married in the bride’s hometown of Decatur! Everything was so cute and quaint in the little downtown area! The wedding was just completely classic and perfect. We headed over to Delano Park for some bridal party shots – an adorable little park we could have stayed at all day long! And Lindsey and Samuel had their first look at Old State Bank… We are still awestruck over those photos. Built in 1833, it is one of only a handful of buildings to survive the Civil War in Decatur. The bank ended up bringing an extra touch of uniqueness to their day. We hope you enjoy looking at these photos as much as we enjoyed documenting their special day!
