Prepare for one of our longest blogs to date... Back in November, we had the privilege of shooting the wedding of two beautiful people at J&D Farms! We have absolutely come to adore this couple. We first met Caitlin back at Drew's sister's wedding in September 2013, and we fell in love with her immediately! We have always loved Drew. We both grew up with him going to the same school. He is one of the sweetest, kindest guys you will ever meet! We are so happy our first experience at J&D was with Caitlin and Drew!
Caitlin and Drew are both engineers. (And they are actually in the process of moving to New Mexico right now with Drew's job!) Caitlin graduated from Samford and Drew graduated from Alabama, but they met in Birmingham at UAB taking summer classes. They became study buddies and in turn, just became really good friends! Every time Drew came to Bham for his co-op, they'd meet up and grab lunch together. Until one day, Caitlin realized that all the qualities she was looking for in a guy...were right in front of her! Drew was just the type of guy that she wanted. From there, their friendship laid a perfect foundation for a wonderful relationship! Or as Caitlin described it: "It all fell into place. It kinda all made sense. You know, super cheesy and destiny and all that stuff." (We love this girl ha!)
Caitlin surprised Drew with a trip to Chicago as a Christmas gift! What Caitlin didn't realize was that her gift to Drew was going to be the surprise of a lifetime for her! So in February 2014, they headed to the Windy City for a sweet, little vacation. It was Drew's idea one night to walk to dinner! Like an awesome girlfriend, Caitlin agreed to walk in the freezing winter weather in her little dress and tights! Once they got to the bridge on Michigan Avenue, they stopped to admire the architecture (that their little engineer hearts couldn't pass up!) While Caitlin was pushing back everything in her to not ask why they decided to WALK to dinner in these temperatures, Drew was being the cutest guy in the world telling her the sweetest things. Of course the wheels were turning in Caitlin's head, thinking that this may be the moment! But at that second, an ambulance passed with its sirens blaring and those thoughts left her mind. When she came back to focus on Drew, he had pulled the ring out! Caitlin immediately screamed, "What are you doing?!" If you've ever met Caitlin, you can just imagine her big laughter and screams coming out of her mouth at that moment! Not a happier sound in the world! Thankfully, Drew is a smart man and he hired a photographer for this special occasion. Caitlin was the cutest and most adorable girl in Chicago that night! The photos portray so much joy, it's hard to remember that you weren't actually there! We are so thankful that we were there for their wedding day, though! We had the hardest time narrowing down your photos for a blog post... This may be the longest one we've ever done! We hope you enjoy!
